I fell in love with computers when I was a child and my parents bought me my first programming book, a C reference guide. Since then some of the best moments of my life were spent staring at a screen, typing and waiting for something to compile
Previously I worked on various topics, from low level work such as writing GPU kernels, ultra low latency distributed systems, creating novel optimization techniques, writing a linear algebra compiler, to more high level product work. I also have a non-traditional academic background, being self-taught in everything I know about computers, but formally I went to law school
At Twin we're creating the best system in the world to build agents that help folks run their businesses. When we first started the company, back when ChatGPT came out, we used the analogy that LLMs were like "PhDs in a box," in the sense that they have a lot of knowledge and are smart, but lacked the ability to accomplish tasks autonomously and could only interact through text. Although this has changed a lot with agents, we're still in the early days, and we still believe that the value LLMs can create, even at their current level of intelligence, is severely limited by the systems around it, and their accessibility to people outside of tech
